Each Sunday, we are nourished in God’s word and sacrament and celebrate God’s many blessings. So too, are we empowered to bless others, to be sent out with what we have received.
We here at Good Shepherd know that daily we are being prepared to share and serve the good news and hope we have in the love of God through God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
Blue Hope Stones are God’s love for you: blue is the color of Hope. Remember the stone was rolled away from the tomb on that first Easter morning. It was a visible sign of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. These small stones remind us that “Jesus is our Rock,” our solid foundation stones, and that the hope of God will never fail us.
The members are invited to take one at any time and carry it as a reminder that God’s hope is with them. When the Spirit moves them to pass it on to someone else who needs that reminder, they give the stone to that someone, blessing them with hope.
We will pray for all and the travels of our Good Shepherd Hope Stones.
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.” (2 Samuel 22:2-4)
“The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock.” (Matthew 7:25)
“…and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10:4)
